Today I start this blog to keep you informed of developments in the construction of The Clea Salavert Library for Lalomanu Primary School. Trudie and I have been and continue to be amazed at the generosity of people in the fundraising. As at 25 January 2010, the Lalomanu Library Fund held by the Australian Academy of the Humanities is close to meeting its initial objectives. Our sincerest thanks to everyone who has made a donation.My intention is to publish this blog in three languages: English, Spanish and Catalan. They are the three languages Clea was familiar with. The above is a photograph of Lalomanu Primary School (thanks to Jason and Carolyn Green for these photos!). When I first saw it, it reminded me of the 60s' rural Spanish schools: bare, lacking in every technological development we take for granted in Australia.
Doy inicio hoy a este blog para manteneros informados de los avances en la construcción de la Biblioteca Clea Salavert para Lalomanu Primary School. A Trudie y a mí nos ha asombrado y sigue asombrándonos la generosidad de la gente en la captación de fondos. A fecha de 25 de enero de 2010, el Lalomanu Library Fund que custodia la Australian Academy of the Humanities se encuentra cercano a cumplir con sus objetivos iniciales. Nuestra más sincera gratitud a todos los que han aportado un donativo. Es mi intención publicar este blog en tres idiomas: inglés, castellano y catalán. Son los tres idiomas con los que Clea estaba familiarizada. La de arriba es una foto de Lalomanu Primary School (¡gracias a Jason y Carolyn Green por estas fotos!). Cuando la vi por primera vez vez, me recordó a las escuelas rurales de los 60 en España: sin casi nada, no tiene ninguno de los avances tecnológicos que damos por hecho en Australia.

A data del 25 de gener de 2010, el Lalomanu Library Fund que custòdia l'Australian Academy of the Humanities es troba prop a cumplir amb els seus objectius inicials. La nostra més sincera gratitud per a tots els que hi han fet un donatiu. Tinc l'intenció de publicar aquest blog en tres llengües: anglés, castellà i català. Son les tres llengües amb les que Clea estava familiaritzada. La de damunt es una foto de Lalomanu Primary School (gràcies a Jason i Carolyn Green per aquestes fotos!). Quan la vaig vorer per primera vegada, em va recordar les escoles rurals dels 60 a Espanya: sense quasi gens, no té cap dels avanços tecnològics que donem per fet a Austràlia.
